The Texans take on the Jaguars but outside of that….

It’s not the most appealing slate of games this morning, but the teams appear to be evenly matched. In the NFC South, who knows whether it’ll be Derek Carr or Jameis Winston at quarterback for the New Orleans Saints. But the Saints are missing key cogs like wide receiver Michael Thomas and cornerback Marshon Lattimore.

Desmond Ridder is back at quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, who have a sneaky good defense. Atlanta has seemingly played in only one-possession games. I think they get the job done today.

Nothing to say about the Titans and Panthers. That should be ugly and lower-scoring, much like the Bengals and Steelers.

The Jaguars and Texans are the game of the morning — I’d say the day. Jacksonville got trounced by Houston earlier in the year 37-17. They can’t afford to get swept and this is for the division. Trevor Lawrence should do well against this Houston defense. C.J. Stroud won’t struggle, but it’s a nice step-down in class for the Jags.

The other game today features Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay on the road against Gardner Minshew and the Colts. No thanks.
